As cliche as it may sound, in life nothing worth having ever comes easy, however the results and the fruits of your labor is worth the discomfort in the long run. Gaining the trust of those who I am unfamiliar to, is a concept I am learning to accept and understand. As the dynamics of event coordinating is different as opposed to what I am accustomed to in the field of retail; Customers/ Clients for one in this field are mainly basing their decisions on what’s aesthetically eye pleasing, based on the portfolio of what’s presented to them.
My current clientele consists of my beloved patrons who are familiar with my work and trust that I will serve and successfully understand and fulfil the assignment. The current task at hand is the ability to obtain new clientele at the speed that I am accustomed to, but only time and consistency can bring forth those results, and shall bring forth the traffic I desire, its part of my journey and the process.
But fast forward 10 years later we now have bookings with tons of new clientele much often.
My love for event coordinating and design, sparked when I began assisting family and friends with the planning and designing of their personal, intimate events and small gatherings. The more I participated and experienced a feeling of instant euphoric gratification after every outcome, the more I became passionate about event coordinating. There urge to help others’ vision come to life became a must- have and a must- do. Not to mention, I not only learned quickly but the ideas began forming naturally.
What began as a simple request, and willingness to volunteer my time, quickly escalated into my passion and profession. Its amazing how free time and a “I’ll help you with the planning and set-up of your birthday party”, quickly turned into a lifestyle. Its an honor, to even be asked to help transform someone’s visions into reality.
While most see the revenue opportunities in this profession, which can be quite rewarding, I however, believe without the patience, passion, and desire to bring forth joy to others during some of the most memorable times in their lives is more than a requirement; it is the actual purpose and main ingredient to a successful outcome. Turning an empty room or venue into something magical such as a milestone celebration, a matrimonial ceremony, or the celebration of a new life coming into the world is far beyond what money can provide. It takes divine purpose, vision, and love to achieve total satisfaction.
